Satya Prakash Sangwan, the Vice President of Paralympic Committee has been chosen as the Indian contingent’s Chef-De-Mission for the Paris Paralympics 2024. He expressed his excitement by stating that he is expecting at least 25-30 medals from India this time.
As the Paris Olympics comes to an end, the sporting action will continue with the Paris Paralympics from August 28 onwards.
On Tuesday, PCI announced the appointment of Satya Prakash Sangwan, as the Chef de Mission for the Indian Paralympic team.
Sangwan has said that athletes have benefited from top-class equipment, long training stints abroad, and well-organized national camps under the guidance of PCI chief coach Satyanarayana.
He commented that it is this comprehensive preparation in the form of top-class equipment, long training stints abroad, and well-organized national camps under Satyanarayana’s supervision that has readied the athletes. “Actual preparation has been done in full and minute detail,” says Sangwan.
“The athletes had excellent equipment and facilities available to them, while the international and national training camps have been pretty key to getting them prepared. With this kind of preparation, we are pretty hopeful of touching our target of 25-30 medals, with an emphasis on 8-10 golds.”
As Chef-De-Mission, Sangwan’s role will be wide-ranging and critical. He would manage the logistical and operational aspects of the Indian delegation, making sure everything ran smoothly and efficiently. He will also provide leadership and support to the athletes in a manner that generates a positive environment, motivating enough to bring out exceptional performances.
Under Sangwan’s leadership, the team will most likely get directed toward the goal of success at the Paralympics scheduled in Paris. Strategic planning by him and rigorous preparation of athletes are bound to pay vital dividends for India in its journey toward excellence on the global stage.
The 2024 Paris Paralympics will be yet another window of opportunity for India to grow from where it had left off and to stamp its presence in the global Paralympic community. Under the leadership of Sangwan, accompanied by a well-prepared team, India will make an inspiring presence in the Games, eyeing a display of its prowess and potential in the Paralympic fields.
