Pilot Accuses BJP of Constitution Tampering

Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Sunday launched a scathing attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that the BJP had tampered with the Constitution and the reservation policies. Pilot also reacted to the recent announcement of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his possible resignation.

Kejriwal has threatened to quit within two days unless the public declares him “honest.” In reply, Pilot said, “It is up to the people of Delhi to decide their Chief Minister. The Congress party is prepared for every challenge. We are ready to form the government in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir.”

Pilot also attacked the BJP’s moves on constitutional and reservation issues. “Reservation is a right for the people. I am astonished by the recent tampering with the Constitution and reservation policies. Who needed 400 MPs in the Lok Sabha? The public has spoken, and we will not tolerate further attacks on these issues. The BJP’s time is running out. Internal voices within the BJP now call for rolling back these changes.”

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad stated, “We will oppose any amendment to the Constitution or changes in reservation policy at all costs, alongside the INDIA alliance. The public has given their verdict in this Lok Sabha election. The Congress Party and the INDIA alliance will strongly resist any tampering. We will not allow these changes to happen.”

Pilot further assailed the incumbent BJP regime, termed it flawed. “The BJP government is miserably failing in maintaining law and order, safety of women, and governance on all essential counts, he said. There has been a change in the tone of the ruling party since June 4. The results reflect unanimity over change. The BJP government is working weak, so they are making baseless charges,” Pilot said.

He called for the BJP to concentrate on development and good governance, not on unfounded claims: “The time has come for action. You have formed the government—now deliver on development and governance. Address the mistakes, listen to the opposition, and respond to public concerns. The decisions made in Delhi are up to the people, but the Congress party will be ready to move forward,” Pilot said in conclusion.

Pilot said this time that the Congress party was ready to face any political challenge, either in Delhi or the forthcoming elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir. “We are ready for whatever comes. The elections are nearing in Haryana and Kashmir. We will form governments in both states and address the issues in Delhi strongly. The Congress party has been holding demonstrations against the failures of the present administration,” said Pilot.
