Devotees on Friday thronged temples across the country to offer prayers and seek blessings on the second day of Sharadiya Navratri.
Devotees thronged in large numbers to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. They worshipped Goddess Durga as Mata Brahmacharini on this day. Several of them had prayed at Maa Chandi Devi Temple in Haridwar. Head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, offered prayers at the Maa Pitambara Temple in Datia, Madhya Pradesh, and joined the celebrations.
In Delhi, Shri Kalka Ji Temple was jostled with the crowd of devotees. In Vijayawada, they went to the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam also known as Kanaka Devi Temple.
Special aarti at Shri Adhya Katyayani Shaktipith Mandir in Chhatarpur. And also performed at the Jandewalan Mata Temple in the capital on Friday morning Navratri.
Special security arrangements at Kalika Temple Devasthan in Nashik. Additional Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kumar Chavan said, “The Kalika Devi Utsav has begun. We have diverted the traffic. And will deploy nearly 100 police personnel around the clock.We also have police in disguise. We installed more than 100 CCTV cameras. Also will provide fire brigade and ambulance services.” Thousands of devotees are expected daily. And the police helpline number 112 will function round the clock.
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, organizers also constructed a Durga Puja pandal based on the theme of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Similarly, in Kolkata’s Lake Town area, they created a Durga Puja pandal based on the theme of the Tirupati Balaji Temple. Sujit Bose, West Bengal Minister said, “This year we decided to theme the Durga Puja Pandal after the Tirupati Balaji Temple, which is 100 feet tall.”
Joint CP of Southern Range, Sanjay Kumar Jain, visited Durga Puja Pandal at CR Park. And also remarked on the popularity it had gained in the Delhi-NCR region: “We began security preparations one and a half months ago, meeting with organizers to ensure safety.”
Additionally, Shardiya Navratri is one of the vibrant and most religious festivals for Hindus. Celebrated uninterruptedly for nine nights in honor of the divine feminine power of the goddess Durga. Devotees fast, sing devotional songs and dance in traditional dances. Like Garba and Dandiya to create an atmosphere of ecstasy and joy.
