Five Arrested in Massive Cocaine Bust

The Special Cell of Delhi Police, along with Gujarat Police, arrested five people on Monday in connection with a major cocaine drug bust.

In continuation of the same drive, on Sunday, a joint operation by both police forces seized 518 kgs of cocaine valued at Rs 5,000 crore. The recovery falls under the government’s Zero Tolerance against Drugs and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Police recovered the drugs after conducting a search at the Avkar Drugs Limited Company in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. Consequently, the operation led to significant arrests. And all over again points to the fact that vigilance is very important when tackling drives related to drugs.

On October 1, the Special Cell of Delhi Police raided a godown at Mahipalpur belonging to Tushar Goyal. As many as 562 kilograms of cocaine and 40 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana were recovered. Further investigation led to the recovery of an additional quantity of cocaine. Weighing 208 kg, in a shop at Ramesh Nagar, Delhi, on October 10.

In all, the Delhi Police have seized 1,289 kgs of cocaine and 40 kgs of hydroponic marijuana sourced from Thailand. The authorities estimate the combined value of the two at Rs 13,000 crore. Therefore, the seizure represents a major drug bust.

The probe learned that the consignment belonged to Pharma Solution Services. And had originated from the Avkar Drugs Limited Company in Gujarat.

The ED, Delhi Zonal Office, on October 11 conducted searches in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai about this case. The Enforcement Directorate investigated over 602 kilograms of narcotics, including cocaine and hydroponic marijuana. As a result, they uncovered crucial details in the case.

The Special Cell also recovered another 200 kg of cocaine valued at Rs 2,000 crore from a closed shop in Ramesh Nagar on October 10. “The cocaine was concealed in packets of namkeen, according to police.

The police also arrested a resident of Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh who was allegedly transporting the consignment. During questioning, they learned that a UK citizen, who had been absconding, had stored the drugs in the shop.
