Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav, a great fan of the late Shane Warne, has now paid a very emotional tribute to Shane Warne through a post on Instagram.
Being a spinner himself, Kuldeep Yadav has long personally thought that Shane Warne was a guy who has had a very strong influence on his bowling career.
The Indian spin sensation hailed the legendary leggie with the words “Bowling Shane. Always & Forever” in his Instagram post.
Kuldeep was very much influenced by Shane Warne’s bowling during his initial days of cricketing days. He was a lad smitten by Muhammad Wasim, the Pakistani fast bowler, but later, under an able coach, he was converted into another Shane Warne.
In an earlier episode of ICC Review, Kuldeep spoke of how Warne advised him on spin bowling before the latter’s death last year. To date, he said he watches many old videos of Warne to be inspired and correct his craft.
“If there is any doubt about my bowling, I look at his old action,” Kuldeep said. “I’m really lucky I played with him and fortunate enough to know him in person. The way he used to dismiss a batter and the plans that he had. I learned a lot from him through the TV. So these were a few things that I can take from him. He was mentally very strong and confident. When I was playing in Sydney, he helped me a lot. I have learned a lot from him. And throughout my career, I have followed the same thing,” Kuldeep said during the ICC Review.
Yadav, has appeared in 12 Tests for the country, scalping 53 wickets, with the best of 5/40 in an innings. He made his Test debut against Australia in Dharamsala impressing all by taking 4 wickets for 68 runs in the 1st innings.
Looking ahead, Kuldeep prepares for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy that starts on November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The second Test will run from December 6 to 10 at the Adelaide Oval and will feature a day-night format under lights.
Following the Adelaide Oval’s Test, the caravan will shift to The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test from December 14-18. The traditional Boxing Day Test will take place from December 26-30 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The SCG will host the fifth and last Test of the series from January 3 to January 7. Culminating in what everybody expects to be a series of electrifying encounters.
India aims to further embellish its fine record in Australia, having won the last two series in 2018-19 and 2020-21. A series win this time would secure a historic hat-trick on Australian soil.
