National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party AAP Arvind Kejriwal exuded hope and determination in his video message sent to his party supporters on Friday as the party gears up for the ensuing Delhi Assembly elections. Kejriwal sent words of encouragement to his supporters, assuring them not to lose heart in the face of challenges that the party faced during the last two years, while urging that it was time to move on.
Kejriwal said that in the most difficult times when there were many attempts to break or buy off AAP members. The party emerged stronger and more united. “We have gone through the most difficult times in the last two years. Many attempts were made to break us but we did not break. All the workers of Aam Aadmi Party have become a family with more strength and passion,” he said.
Kejriwal, eyeing the Delhi Assembly elections, warned of massive opposition. “They will be doing everything to defeat us in Delhi Assembly elections. And we should not allow such forces to win at any cost.” Kejriwal referred to the fact that there has never been a party with such an agenda on basic issues like education, roads, and public services. “For the first time, I have seen people talking about the real issues-schools, roads, and basic infrastructure,” he noted.
The AAP is working towards establishing contact with voters to cement its grassroots support base in the run-up to the impending elections. Kejriwal along with other top-ranking party leaders launched the second phase of the campaign which also involves padayatra across different legislative constituencies. These marches would help them get in touch with the public directly and garner support at the grassroots level.
The AAP also constituted booth-level and mandal-level committees to make more proper preparations and coordination during the election campaign. These will help in organizing supporters for rallies and proper implementation of plans made by the party.
To further solidify the work of electioneering, on November 11, AAP will organize a District Officer Convention. In addition to appreciating the hard work of the district-level officers and activists. The convention aims to gear them up for the forthcoming elections. This forms part of a broader approach towards maintaining and consolidating AAP’s structures at the grass roots.
In fact, through these padayatra, formation of committees, and the District Officer Convention. AAP is trying to consolidate its support base for a strong performance in the ensuing Delhi Assembly elections.
