The opposition MVA has passed a resolution in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly for the restoration of Article 370. To that, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah replied very strongly. He said that this Article won’t ever come back, not after four generations also come from NCP Chief Sharad Pawar.
Shah brought it up during a speech in Shirala, Maharashtra: “National Conference and Congress passed a resolution in the J&K assembly to bring back Article 370, claiming Kashmir is not an integral part of India. Today, I’m saying on the land of Sambhaji Maharaj – Sharad Pawar sahab. We will not let Article 370 be restored, even if your four generations come,” he said.
The home minister also brought up renaming Aurangabad to Sambhajinagar. “MVA and Uddhav Thackeray are opposing this move, but the name will stay Sambhajinagar,” he asserted. Making it clear that the BJP would not let up on its demand for a name change.
Shah further attacked the MVA over “appeasement politics.” He mentioned a bill brought in by Prime Minister Modi in Parliament for the resolution of issues relating to the Waqf board. And accused Congress of having made provisions allowing the Waqf to lay claim on temple lands and farmers’ property. “In Karnataka, entire villages and land, including temples, have been declared Waqf property,” Shah said. Adding that the MVA leaders had not taken a clear stand on the bill. He warned that if the MVA came to power, they would continue such practices.
Shah further reassured that none would “dare touch temple lands and farmers’ property under the NDA government “. He also addressed the issue of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, saying Congress had delayed its construction by several years. “PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Ram Mandir in just five years whereas Pawar, Rahul Gandhi, and Uddhav Thackeray kept away from the ceremony,” he added.
Shah claimed that only the Mahayuti government could put an end to appeasement politics. And drew a contrast in the funds allotted to Maharashtra under BJP-led governments and MVA rule. He further added that elections to the Maharashtra polls.
