Trump Warns of Iran Threats, Slams Harris

Former US President Donald Trump recently said that Iran has issued threats against him. He said on X, “There are big threats on my life by Iran.”

Trump said Iran had attempted in the past to pull off something against him but failed. He further warned that they would perhaps “try again.”. He thanked Congress in a series of tweets for passing additional funding to the Secret Service. “Thank you to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service-Zero ‘NO’ Votes, strictly bipartisan,” he wrote. The apparent unity was refreshing to Trump. He also made it a point to make sure that any attack on a former president would go extremely badly for the attacker: “An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!

His campaign communications director, Steven Cheung, conceded that Trump had indeed received a briefing from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence regarding very real threats from Iran to destabilize the U.S. “Intelligence officials have identified that these continued and coordinated attacks have heightened in the past few months,” Cheung said. He added that law enforcement agencies were doing their job to protect Trump and ensure the election was free.

A second post saw him target Vice President Kamala Harris and immigration. The former president blasted her for her lateness in visiting the U.S.-Mexico border. Harris was tasked with tackling, within the early days of the Biden administration, the roots of migration from Latin America. Throughout her tenure thus far, she has remained a target of Trump’s ire. Trump also said that she had “waited almost four years” to visit the border, which insinuates that her soon-to-be-taken trip will be a political one. “After almost four years, Border Czar Kamala Harris has now, out of political necessity, decided it’s time for her to go to our broken Southern Border,” Trump wrote. He added that by keeping silent, Harris allowed into the country millions of undocumented people, including criminals and terrorists.

Trump tweeted, “She’s trying to con the public like she did a good job at the Border when, in fact, she has destroyed the very fabric of our Nation allowing 21 million people in from places unknown.

He also declared, “Many of those who crossed the border came from prisons, mental institutions, and criminal cells worldwide.” This echoes his continuing rhetoric on border security as the keystone issue for his campaign.

According to the New York Times, Harris is scheduled this Friday to travel to the southern border as part of a larger Arizona trip. This will mark the first time she has traveled to the southern border. Since President Biden formally announced he would not seek reelection. Harris is pushing to cement her stance on immigration as President Donald Trump. And Republican leaders quickly move in to put pressure on her. Immigration remains the defining issue of Trump-and for Harris-when considering the coming 2024 election. Trump’s sharp rhetoric places a debate over border security in stark political relief. Because this is a topic that cuts across party lines, it will remain current and vital in the political conversation.
