Saga Fiction, a well-known mobile fiction app that brought readers and writers from around the world together, is being reconstructed as The Bombay Circle Press, a traditional publishing house with a difference, which is dedicated to reawakening and giving a facelift to commercial fiction and non-fiction categories.
Founded by two friends, Aakriti Patni and Pranika Sharma in 2020, Saga Fiction grew quickly into a digital hub where creativity knew no bounds. However, realizing that more had to be offered to the authors in terms of the depth of the platform, the duo decided to convert this purely digital venture into a traditional publishing house. And thus, The Bombay Circle Press was born.
Celebrating Mumbai’s Cosmopolitan Ethos
Renaming it as The Bombay Circle Press is a dedication to the vibrant culture of Mumbai. And its rich, age-old tradition of storytelling. Mumbai, earlier known as Bombay, is a city renowned for its creativity, and its connections. And is a place that can inspire great stories. The word “Circle” denotes the complete journey of storytelling from the idea to the final connection with the readers. It is a metamorphosis that finally gives The Bombay Circle Press the strength to be not merely a publisher. But a community that will champion stories and foster relationships between readers and writers.
“We’re thrilled to turn this new page,” says Aakriti Patni, CEO and co-founder. “Our objective is not only to publish books but to give a home to writers and readers who believe in the power of stories. At The Bombay Circle Press, we strive to enable the author to have a voice. Ultimately bridging the gap between the reader and the story they relate to more.”
From Digital to Print
Saga Fiction started initially as an e-platform where authors could share their works. And readers got to read stories from around the world. However, Aakriti and Pranika felt that a presence in the printed version of publishing was necessary. That is how The Bombay Circle Press came about, helping bridge digital platforms to print.
The publishing company enables the authors to convert the digital story into the conventional book format for wider dissemination. The readers, on the other hand, will also get an excellent opportunity to come across new and exciting books in print format.
Leadership with Vision
Aakriti Patni is a versatile entrepreneur with an enormous experience in media and entertainment. She has held top roles in her family offices, RAAY Global Investments, and RAAY Media. With her immense wealth of experience within the media industry, The Bombay Circle Press is aptly positioned to shake up the traditional publishing landscape. By combining timeless storytelling with modern sensibilities.
Pranika Sharma, Editor-in-Chief and co-founder, also carries an enviable record in the publishing world. Having worked with international giants like Penguin Random House and HarperCollins. Pranika brings together her editorial expertise along with the printing business acumen of her family. She edits with an eye for detail, ensuring that every book going out under The Bombay Circle Press is handled with professionalism and care.
Empowering Authors, Inspiring Readers
The Bombay Circle Press is committed to publishing voices that aren’t often heard. The publishing house focuses on such genres as commercial non-fiction, crime and thriller, and romance. Giving underrepresented voices the spotlight, it hopes to give readers newer and varied narratives.
It’s already creating a buzz with coming releases. Including “How AI Ate the World,” already talked about as so timely and provoking.
As this goes on to grow, so does The Bombay Circle Press fosters an energetic community of writers. And readers who share a passion for stories that disturb, inspire, and captivate.
Therefore, The Bombay Circle Press is a publisher of a lot more than books. It’s a movement just to revive the love of storytelling and to give authors a powerful opportunity to share their voice with the world. It seeks to build a platform where stories would be celebrated, and where readers can find books that inspire them.
