Over 40 Killed in Gaza Strikes

Tensions in West Asia have escalated with at least 41 people killed, including 13 children, as a result of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. This was as per reports coming in from hospitals in the region.

Officials in Al Awda and Al Aqsa hospitals said 22 people died in strikes at Al Mufti School in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza. Medical teams at Al Aqsa Hospital declared the death of an infant who died despite efforts by medical teams to save him.

More than 5,000 displaced people are taking shelter at a United Nations Relief. And Works Agency for Palestine Refugees school, Gaza’s civil defense said.

Five children, all from the Bakar family, were killed in an Israeli airstrike. As they played marble in northern Gaza, at the Al Shati camp. Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City confirmed the deaths.

Earlier an Israeli airstrike hit a house in Nuseirat refugee camp where a family was sheltering. Eight of its members, including six children, were killed. Another six died when an Israeli tank shelled the nearby Bureij refugee camp.

Fighting in Gaza began after an attack from the Hamas movement against Israel on October 7. As many as 2,500 terrorists crossed the Israeli border from Gaza, causing casualties and hostage-taking. Israel countered the attack with military action against Hamas. Promising to annihilate the group while trying to ensure minimum losses among civilians.

The war has spread across the region: Houthi rebels in Yemen have gone after Israel and other countries in the Red Sea area. On Sunday, a UAV launched by the Hezbollah terrorist organization struck an Israeli army base, killing four IDF soldiers.

The IDF also expressed condolences to the families and requested that the public refrain from spreading rumors or publishing names of injured soldiers to preserve the sensitivity towards the families. “Yesterday, a UAV launched by Hezbollah hit an army base and killed four IDF soldiers,” the IDF said in a release on X. “We share the pain of the bereaved families and will continue to be by their side,” they said.

The incident came after the Israeli military forces detected five projectiles from Lebanon. In addition, Sirens sounded in several areas including the Upper Galilee, Central Galilee, Western Galilee, Haifa Bay, and Carmel.
