Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini urged citizens to hold high the Tricolor, suggesting national pride and unity as an honor that was a collective duty for everyone. He was exhorting people at a program in Kalka, district Panchkula, and urged citizens to actively take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is an initiative that has sought inspiration from people to hoist the national flag at homes and workplaces as a mark of respect toward the great sacrifice of India’s freedom fighters.
In the program, Tiranga Yatra was inaugurated by CM Saini with impassioned slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai‘ that concluded at Shri Kali Mata Temple in Kalka. Earlier, he visited the historic Kali Mata Temple and Gurudwara Sahib to seek divine blessings.
He said that Independence Day is celebrated as the “courage of martyrs” who struggled for the freedom of the motherland. He paid heed to PM Modi’s call for the flying of the National Flag in every household as a gesture of gratitude toward such brave heroes who shaped India’s fate.
He also spoke about PM Modi’s dream of making India a developed nation by the year 2047—no mean task, when 1.4 billion people march together toward that goal. He appreciated the commitment of Haryana to this mission and their active involvement in the progress of the nation.
He shared details of several other such initiatives taken up by PM Modi, which included the campaign, ‘Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam’, aimed at bringing awareness regarding the planting and protecting trees during special occasions. He pointed to PM Modi’s effort to bring India’s ancient yoga practices onto the global stage.
The other key visitors to the event included former MLA Latika Sharma, senior leader Banto Kataria, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Yash Garg, Deputy Commissioner of Police Himadree Kaushik, and several other noted dignitaries.
