Recently, Amit Sial opened up on the reason for joining Vivek Anchalia’s upcoming family drama Tikdam. He revealed what exactly drew him to the script.
In Tikdam, Amit Sial performs the role of a man who has to leave his small town and relocate to a busy city due to limited opportunities available there. The story involves emotional turmoil brought upon the family by their trying several ways to stop him from leaving, adding elements of depth and resilience. Known for doing complex characters in many movies and web series, namely, Maharani, Jamtara, Kathmandu Connection, and recently Qala, Amit Sial is all set to strike the right chords once again through his new project.
“I found myself getting more intense in my personal life, and that was a point from where I needed to break away. So this opportunity came at the right time,” Amit explained his choice to be a part of the film. “Every new project comes with its different challenges, while a well-written script often gives its solutions. You discover new aspects when you get into new work, and though it can get tough, my directors are always talented and supportive, which helps in the creative process.”
“New work brings different challenges, but it is never too tough. I think I am very lucky because my directors have been very- skilled and intelligent, and that makes a lot of difference to the work that I do. My directors are always much smarter than me, and that is why my performances resonate well”, he added.
Amit Sial headlines the Tikdam cast alongside Arisht Jain, Aarohi Saud, Divyansh Dwivedi, and Nayan Bhatt—all of whom contribute to the cinemas. Directed by Vivek Anchalia and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Poonam Shroff, Parth Gajjar, Savio Shenoy, and Shweta Sharma Anchalia for Skylark Productions India and Hardik Gajjar Films, the movie has a lot to present in terms of emotional quotient.
“Vivek has retained a certain innocence and childlike quality in his work and even in the way he is. It automatically reflects in his direction.” He recollects his association with Vivek Anchalia, saying, “Our relationship has grown beyond the routine director-actor equation to become one of family and friendship. After working with Vivek, I look at some more associations shortly.”
Vivek Anchalia added, “Amit is one of the finest actors of our time. For a role that requires depth and a range of emotions, Amit was an obvious choice. Though he played many intense roles earlier, his ability to portray complex characters made him ideal for this project. Meeting Amit confirmed within minutes that he was perfect for the role.”
The trailer of Tikdam has just dropped, and it’s all set to premiere on JioCinema on August 23.
