Hulu’s hit series Only Murders in the Building is cranking up the action in its fourth season, and it’s going to be its “starriest” season to date. On Tuesday, the streamer unveiled a brand-new trailer that has given fans the most significant look yet at the forthcoming season’s Hollywood hijinks.
After that wild ending to season three, in which Charles’ friend and stunt double from years ago, Sazz, played by Jane Lynch, came to a sorry end, the new season picks up with this trio of bumbling sleuths at work: a bereaved Charles, Oliver, and Mabel trying to process their grief as they take their most famous, high-profile trip to date—to Hollywood.
Things start to get hairy when a film studio begins to turn their hit podcast into a movie, unraveling a set of new mysteries and celebrity encounters. And with an already-announced guest star lineup, Hulu touts the glamour of the season: Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon, Richard Kind, Kumail Nanjiani, and Melissa McCarthy.
The trailer teases Longoria, Levy, and Galifianakis as themselves, but playing themselves as actors in the podcast-turned-film adaptation. Shannon makes a cameo as a big Hollywood executive who runs the project, while McCarthy appears as Charles’ sister out on Long Island. Also returning are several fan favorites such as Lynch, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Michael Cyril Creighton, and even Meryl Streep to really pump up the star power of this season.
The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building will be available on Hulu starting August 27, with all-new episodes every Tuesday. Mystery and intrigue once more blend in with an abundance of humor, and this time out, a taste of Tinseltown glamour in its most star-studded season to date.
