Bollywood Celebrities Smothered in the color of love: Karwa Chauth

Valentine may be the day of love in the West, but here in the East, Karwa Chauth is. It is the day when Hindu women around the globe sacrifice food and water, wishing for the longevity of their husbands. The day begins with puja early in the morning and ends with another puja by evening. Which is then followed by the wait for the moody moon to appear. Once the moon shows itself, finally, the first drop of water drenches their palate, marking the end of this day of love and sacrifice. After all, what is love without a little sacrifice?

Our Bollywood divas are no less. Some may call Karwa Chauth an outdated trend, but little do they know that it’s a custom, not a trend—a custom passed on from one generation to the next. Even those who don’t associate with Hindu culture seem to enjoy this festival. For instance, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra had their minimal Karwa Chauth in London. While Preity G Zinta served a simple yet evergreen look from Los Angeles with her husband, Gene Goodenough.

In India, Parineeti Chopra, Rakul Preet, Kriti Kharbanda, Sonakshi Sinha, Kiara Advani, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif followed the theme of red with a hint of blush in their attire and makeup too. Their respective husbands, Raghav Chada, Jackky Bhagnani, Pulkit Samrat, Zaheer Iqbal, Siddharth Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal; made sure to accompany their lovely wives with their clean yet sleek looks, charming us all with their mesmerizing smiles.

The vision of love may vary between the East and West, but one thing is sure: love is that one thing which can bring us close even amidst chaos. These days dedicated to love are here to teach us about connection, resilience, sacrifice, compassion, and most importantly, selflessness.
