Hollywood actors Ben Foster and Laura Prepon have called it quits after six years of marriage. The divorce was filed by Foster citing irreconcilable differences.
According to court documents obtained by People magazine, Foster, star of X-Men: The Last Stand, and Prepon, best known for starring in Orange Is the New Black, are separating. Foster filed a petition for divorce on October 17, 2023. The date listed for the separation is September 9, 2023.
The 44-year-old actor also asked the court to enforce their pre-nup agreement and equally distribute all the assets and debts between them. Foster requested that both parties be responsible for their legal fees while sharing all the court costs.
Foster, and Prepon, both 44, had started dating in 2016. Fast forward, things quickly began to pick up pace, and by 2017, they became engaged. Later that same year, they welcomed their first child, a daughter they named Ella. The two tied the knot in 2018, and Prepon took to Instagram to celebrate the day of her wedding. “Just Married,” she wrote, posting a picture from the ceremony. “Thank you for all the love and support. Wishing all of us the good stuff!“
The couple was blessed with a son in 2020. They did not disclose his name, perhaps to keep their babies out of the limelight like them. Later, Prepon stated in an interview, People magazine, “Everyone is different with [posting] pictures of their kids. No judgment, do your thing. But for my husband and I, that’s where we do remain extra private, is when it comes to our kids.”
The two had always been careful with separating their public and personal lives. They tried to balance work life with personal life, however busy their careers were. In a 2019 interview, Prepon said, “Ben and I are great about if I’m at work, he’s [at home], and if he’s at work, I’m [at home].” She admitted that at times, she feels guilty; she doesn’t know how to balance work and family life.
This is the end of a chapter for this Hollywood couple, who, apart from their celebrity profile, have maintained a private personal life.
