Filmmaker Sunil Bohra and writer Akhilesh Jaiswal, known for their successful collaboration in the movie ‘Gangs of Wasseypur,’ have joined hands once again for an exciting new web series titled ‘Badshah of Begusarai.’
This announcement comes as a surprise. Notably, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur,’ one of Bohra’s and Jaiswal’s previous works, has just been re-released in theaters. Set against the “raw and gritty landscape of Bihar,” the series promises to deliver the same intense experience. And rawness that made their previous work a hit.
Producer Sunil Bohra of Bohra Bros said, “Returning into the world which has a shade of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ is very exciting. With this collaboration, we look forward to an amalgamation of thrill and anticipation of never-before experience.” Bohra promised the series would feature high levels of intensity. Specifically, he assured that the underworld crime drama would surpass the impact of their earlier venture.
Thereby, writer-director Akhilesh Jaiswal expressed his excitement to tread on this virgin terrain: “I’m very excited to return to this familiar and yet constantly evolving space“. Akshilesh said, “This project provides an opportunity to delve into a world and character as dark and layered as the story is deep and full of intrigue-a journey burdensome and excitingly pleasant.”
Production will begin at the start of 2025. For the audience who likes Bohra and Jaiswal’s other series, they are also expecting a dark and engaging storyline of the series. The series announcement has already created a lot of noise among audiences and critics.
