Abhishek Agarwal Dedicates Award to Krishna

The prestigious National Award in the category of Best Telugu Film was taken by Producer Abhishek Agarwal for Karthikeya 2. President Droupadi Murmu gave the award during the event of the 70th National Film Awards organized at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Agarwal expressed his joy upon receiving the award, saying, “It is a great feeling when the Government of India appreciates our work and gives us the National Award. It is a very big thing that the Best Film award comes to us.”

He also thanked the audience for this: “We are really thankful to the public. It is because of their love and support that we are receiving this award.”

Asked whom he would dedicate the award to, Agarwal replied, “As we said during The Kashmir Files, which was a people’s film, Karthikeya 2 had the hashtag ‘Krishna is Two’. So, I would love to dedicate this award to Lord Krishna.”

In addition, Agarwal hinted at future projects: “It’s too early to speak about them now, but you will soon hear updates on Delhi Files.”

Karthikeya 2, by dint of its engaging storyline, strong production value, and impressive visual effects, won great appreciation. Centered on mythological themes, the film set a big box-office success. This National Award brings into focus the increasing clout of actor Nikhil Siddhartha within the Telugu film industry.

Other notable films and performances were also recognized in the 70th National Film Awards. Aattam won the award for Best Feature Film. Sooraj Barjatya received the award for Best Director for Uunchai. While Neena Gupta and Pawan Malhotra won Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor for the same film. Kantara won Best Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and KGF: Chapter 2 bagged awards for Best Action Direction and Best Kannada Film.

Overall, this awarding ceremony rejoiced in a diversified set of really outstanding films. And constituted another landmark within the history of Indian cinema.
