During a frank conversation with Elon Musk on the X Spaces, Republican Presidential candidate, and former President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on his Democratic counterpart, Vice President Kamala Harris. Voicing extremely stringent apprehensions about her being elected, Trump said, “Her policy will further deteriorate the issues of illegal immigration and governance.”.
He tagged Harris as an extreme leftist and castigated that a Harris presidency would not be a moderate one. “Well, I think a lot of people thought the Biden administration was going to be moderate, but it’s not. We’re just going to see an even further-left administration with Kamala. That’s my honest opinion,” Trump said in the conversation.
Trump has called Harris a “San Francisco liberal,” blaming her for California’s downfall while warning that the country would be next if she were to be elected. “We don’t have a president right now — and Kamala is even worse. She’s a San Francisco liberal who destroyed that city, destroyed California, and will destroy our country if she is elected,” he added.
The former President criticized the present government’s actions concerning illegal immigration, saying, that with a Harris presidency, there would be a more massive surge of illegal immigrants. This is what Trump said: “If Kamala gets in, we will have 50-60 million illegals from all over the world ferried right into our country. Well, much larger than that is the number of illegals Kamala and Joe have welcomed into our communities. They’re emptying their prisons — and sending them on to our country. They’re bringing crime and violence to our backyards.”.
He also criticized the Biden administration for what he felt were failures of their administration over the past four years: “We have a defective government. We have millions of people coming in a month and then [Kamala] gets up and tries to pretend she’s going to do something. She had three and a half years and they have another five months but they won’t do anything.”.
Trump resorted to his campaign theme: “Make America Great Again,” meaning that the country is presently engulfed in problems of inflation and financial stress to families. “People want the American Dream back more than anything else. You don’t have that today because the people running our country just suck — they’re incompetent people. The economy is a disaster with inflation. Four years ago, people were saving a lot of money. Today they’re using all their money and borrowing money just to live.”
He also promised to strengthen national security, specifically from the point of view of nuclear threats: “We’re going to build an Iron Dome. Israel has it. We’re going to have the best Iron Dome in the world. We need it and we’re going to make it all in the United States. We’re going to have protection,” he promised.
Outspoken Trump-supporting businessman Elon Musk said he believes in the future of the nation, with safe cities, secure borders, and sensible governance: “The things I think are important for the future: we’ve got to have safe cities, secure borders, sensible spending, and deregulation. that’s why I’m supporting you for President,” said Musk.
Trump also revealed a more personal side, reflecting on his political evolution and his belief that the country is really at a crossroads. “I stood in line for six hours to shake Obama’s hand when he was running for president, so it’s not like I’m some sort of dyed-in-the-wool Republican. I mean, I’d call myself, historically, a moderate Democrat. But now, I feel that we’re really at a critical juncture for the country,” he concluded.
In 2024, as the Presidential race heats up, Trump’s blasting of Harris will have to be contextualized against the backdrop of larger political and social debates that separate—mostly along the grounds of immigration, abortion, and gay rights.
